Saurashtra storm into Ranji Final
Vadodara/Cuttack: Left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat wreaked havoc with the ball as Saurashtra dished out a dominant performance to thrash Assam by 10 wickets and sail into the final of the Ranji Trophy cricket tournament.
Such was Saurashtra’s dominance that they wrapped up the five-day match inside three days with Assam batsmen falling flat in front of the opposition bowling unit led by Unadkat, who returned with impressive match figures of 11 for 112 runs. Saurashtra were earlier bowled out for 353 and then Unadkat helped his team bunle Assam out for a paltry 139 in their second innings.
Meanwhile, Surya-kumar Yadav and Aditya Tare helped Mumbai amass a 429-run lead against Madhya Pradesh on day three of the Ranji Trophy semifinal. Yadav (97 n.o.) and Tare (90 n.o.) had taken Mumbai to 285 for three in their second innings after the bowlers did well to dismiss Madhya Pradesh for 227 in their first essay.
