Dambulla players send condolence messages to their fast-bowling coach

Chamila Gamage lost his father on Friday

Dambulla Viiking team members sent heart-felt condolence messages to their fast-bowling coach Chamila Gamage, who lost his father on Friday.

"Yes, it was indeed very sad news and we all sent a message to our coach and will certainly miss him for the final stages of the tournament", the captain Dasun Shanaka, answering to this reporter's question at the virtual press conference, said.

Earlier, Gamage, speaking exclusively from Colombo, said, "I had received the sad news during our match against Colombo Kings on Friday and I left the ground and the team hotel".

"My 75-year-old father was ill for some time but was always encouraging me. I have missed my both parents now. My mother had passed away about 22 years ago", he added.

The Dambulla Viiking team were scheduled to wear black armbands in their semifinal clash on Monday, 14th December against the Jaffna Stallions.
