Ben Stokes hits out at ICC as Virat Kohli, R Ashwin let off the hook
Chennai: Ben Stokes has hit out at International Cricket Council (ICC) after it let off R Ashwin off the hook following his confrontation with James Anderson on Day 5 of the Mumbai Test.
The England all-rounder said: “That side of the game can be jumped on, and people get slapped with fines. If you're going to do someone, you've got to do the next person, no matter who they are and who they play for.”
Following his altercation with Virat Kohli during the Mohali Test, Stokes was reprimanded while the Indian skipper was let go scot-free.
“It is part of the game, so I don't see any reason why they should clamp down on it so quickly,” added Stokes while speaking with an English daily.
“If there's one rule, it's got to be the same rule for everyone. It can't just be that certain people get away with certain things, and other people don't get away with them,” concluded Stokes.
