New Delhi: The ICC Champions Trophy has approached the knockout stage, with Pakistan already eliminating England in the semifinals, and India all set to face Bangladesh on Thursday.

Ahead of the last couple of games in the tournament, Union Sports Minister Vijay Goel has announced that Mega LED screens would be installed at the Major Dhyan Chand Hockey Stadium.

Speaking to news channel ABP, he said “This is being done to utilise the free space in the stadium and also provide everyone a chance to watch the matches for free on the mega screen.

“The idea is to initiate sports culture among the public and optimum utilisation of the stadiums, in future we will have mini-fests too that would create a huge buzz for sporting events across India,” he added.

India reached the semifinal by defeating Pakistan and knocking out South Africa, as their only loss came against Sri Lanka, in Group A.
