Mumbai: After the initial scrutiny of 57 applications for the position of head coach of Team India, 21 applicants – who met the primary criteria – were shortlisted by the BCCI.
The cricket advisory committee comprising Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, VVS Laxman along with Sanjay Jagdale (chief co ordinator of the committee) will decide who, among the 21, will fit the bill.
The panel will process the applications and interview the candidates which will also involve a presentation from their side. They are also free to look at all the 57 names afresh if required.
The committee, after the completion of the process, will recommend their choice to BCCI president Anurag Thakur through the Honorary Secretary Ajay Shirke.
The operation is likely to be held in the Mumbai office; Tendulkar – currently out of India – will be available through video conference.
The report is expected to be submitted by June 22.
