Both of them know each other very well, and have played together at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

AB de Villiers was ruled out of the first three ODIs against India due to a finger injury, and South Africa subsequently lost the opening games.

However, it was not a perfect return for the hard-hitting batsman as he scored just 26 and 6 in the fourth and fifth ODI respectively.

In the fifth ODI, Hardik Pandya’s delivery edged de Villiers’ bat in the off-stump and went to the hands of wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, which resulted in his dismissal. Following this, Virat Kohli gave him an animated send off, and was ecstatic after dismissing the dangerman.

As a result, South Africa fell short of target by 73 runs and lost the match to the visitors, giving the Men in Blue a historic 4-1 series win.

In the same match, Virat Kohli, who is known for his aggresive approach, was also seen sledging South Africa's Tabraiz Shamsi.

The sixth and final ODI of the series will be played on Friday at Centurion.
