Virender Sehwag hits back at Congress Party worker on Twitter
Mumbai: Virender Sehwag’s Twitter adventures seem to be getting more interesting every day.
Sehwag was caught in a storm after he sent out a congratulatory tweet to the Indian Blind T20 team after winning the Blind T20 World Cup saying “Congratulations to our #OtherMenInBlue on winning the T20 World Cup for the Blind. They have lit up smiles for a billion people."
Captain Ajay Reddy seemed to have taken exception to Sehwag’s choice of words and was quoted by the Indian Express saying, “We wear the same blue jersey, represent the same tri-colour and play with equal pride and passion then why term us as ‘other’? It is appreciable that he congratulated us but then we are no others. We too are the men in blue.”
However, Reddy clarified his statement by putting up a video and claimed that he had been misquoted.
But Gaurav Pandhi, who is in charge of Digital Communication for the Congress Party, wrote on Twitter: “Reddy has a point, @virendersehwag! The team led by Kohli won't be called 'other', right?”
Sehwag did not seem particularly pleased with this statement and hit back at Pandhi’s tweet by writing: “. @GauravPandhi Better do some research before commenting. But research &media/you don't go hand in hand. It is their official campaign theme.”
