India vs Sri Lanka, Tests ODIs T20s: Schedule, squads, match-timings, live streaming
Mumbai: After a hard-fought ODI and T20 series win against New Zealand at home, Team India will now face Sri Lanka for three Tests, three ODIs, and three Twenty20s. The series will kick off at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday as Virat Kohli’s men lock horns with Dinesh Chandimal and in the first Test.
The last time, these two teams faced each other was when India toured Sri Lanka. Virat Kohli and co inflicted a whitewash on the Lankan lions in all the three formats, ending the tour with a scoreline of 9-0. Chandimal and co will look to put behind the heavy loss against India and start the tour with a win. While the Lankan side is having a miserable time recently; especially in the limited-overs, they will seek inspiration from their recent Test series outings against Pakistan, where they tamed the Sarfraz Ahmed-led unit in the United Arab Emirates and won the two-match series 2-0.
However, that won’t be an easy task for Sri Lanka who are yet to win a single Test on the Indian soil.
Chandimal, the Lankan skipper, highlighted this fact, ahead of the first Test, saying, "We have never won a Test in India, it's a dream for everyone. This is a first game we are playing in Kolkata. It's always a pleasure playing in front of Kolkata spectators. We need to start well as a team and looking forward."
