India A to clash with New Zealand in Andhra Pradesh
VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Cricket Association is gearing up to conduct the second prestigious tournament in the city at the Mulapadu Cricket Stadium. India A and New Zealand A will play two Test matches in Devineni Venkata Ramana Praneetha Cricket Ground at Dr Gokaraju Laila Gangaraju ACA cricket complex in the city.
The first Test match will be played from September 23 to September 26 while the second one will be played from September 30 to October 3.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, the Andhra Cricket Association General Secretary Ch. Arun Kumar said that the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) was so impressed by ACA’s stadium and facilities that it has given a chance to AP to host these matches. Ace players like Karun Nair and Shardul Thakur will participate in these matches.
The pitch has been made to support both spin and pace bowlers, he said. Accommodation for both teams was arranged in Hotel Taj Gateway and teams would arrive in the city on September 20. Mr Kumar added that five ODI matches will also be conducted in Vizag.
