Aditya Verma to drag Vinod Rai to Supreme Court

Verma has levelled conflict of interest charges against Rai.

Chennai: Aditya Verma, petitioner in the IPL spot-fixing scam, is set to file a petition in the Supreme court seeking enquiry on Vinod Rai, chairman of apex court-appointed COA. Verma has levelled conflict of interest charges against Rai. “I am planning to file the peition in 10-20 days. I want the court to enquire his entire work in BCCI for the last 20 months. He has given BCCI jobs to his own people with handsome salary,” said Verma.

“When Anurag Thakur and Ajay Shirke (former BCCI president and secretary) failed to implement the earlier order of SC, they removed both of them. Similarly, Rai has also failed to implement the order. Justice Lodha has also raised questions on the functioning of Rai. I wonder why SC didn’t remove Rai. This is shocking for me,” he added. Verma also tipped former India cricketer Brijesh Patel and Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan for the top BCCI posts.
