Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday congratulated Indian women’s cricket captain Mithali Raj for setting a world record for the most runs in One-Day Internationals.
Mithali surpassed former England captain Charlotte Edwards’ tally of 5,992 runs when she reached 34 during her knock of 69 against Australia in an ICC World Cup match in England on Wednesday.
Mr Rao sent a congratulatory message to Mithali and said she made the country proud with her achievement, according to a press release from his office. He wished the team greater heights under Mithali’s leadership.
