India cricketers undergo snorkeling, play beach volley to unite ahead of long tour of Caribbean.

St Kitts: India cricketer Shikhar Dhawan turned reporter on the team’s way back to the hotel from Saint Nevis island on Thursday. The boys were taken to the islet for a bonding session in the deep blue waters.

The team did snorkeling, played volleyball as part of the session – a one of a kind initiative by head coach Anil Kumble.

Dhawan asked the cricketers about their experience on the sea.

“We had fun and eventually got tired. We were co-ordinating how to do it, there are some people who didn’t know how to go about it,” said fast bowler Umesh Yadav.

Chief selector Sandeep Patil was also a part of the crew, he thanked skipper Virat Kohli for the invitation.

“The bonding is important on long tours,” said Patil.

“This is one such team which lives with people from all ages and not only contemporaries,” reported Dhawan after talking to senior pro and also, former India cricketer.

“I wanted this bonding to happen, this is exactly what I wanted; so that the team bonds before the start of the long tour,” said Kumble.

In the end, Dhawan said that one should know how to switch off to relax in order to play serious cricket.
