Bengaluru: V. Cheluvaraj scored a century while Sharan Gouda bagged a five-wicket haul in Mount Joy Cricket Club’s drawn encounter against Swastic Union Cricket Club (2) in the KSCA Group I – I Division cricket league for the Mirza Ismail Shield.
Cheluvaraj’s 226-ball 151 (16x4) guided Mount Joy to 363. Samarth Ooty (94) missed out on a ton while Praveen made 46. Off-spinner Gowtham K picked up six wickets while Karthik CA and Arshdeep Singh Brar grabbed two apiece.
In reply, Swastic Union were bowled out for 208. Nishith Raj led with 59 while Ashish Dhar (37) and Karthik CA (45) came up with useful contributions. Pacer duo Prasidh and Aditya Somanna took two wickets each to help their side grab three first innings points.
With a healthy 155-run lead, Mount Joy were 113 for 5 in the second innings with Praveen scoring 61. Satish Bharadwaj claimed three wickets and medium pacer Vishnu Prabhas took two.
