I relived my life through Biopic: Sachin Tendulkar
Mumbai: After singing Cricket Wali Beat Pe with Sonu Nigam, former India skipper Sachin Tendulkar will be seen now in his biopic Sachin — A Billion Dreams. The legendary cricketer launched the trailer of the docu-feature in the presence of James Erskine, the UK-based director, producer Ravi Bhagchandka and Shrikant Bhasi, founder and chairman of Carnival Group, here on Thursday.
Sachin’s biopoic is set to release on May 26. Last year saw the releases of movies on cricketers M.S. Dhoni (M.S. Dhoni – The Untold Story) and Mohammed Azharuddin (Azhar). “I am feeling exactly the way I did during my first press conference in 1990 after my first international hundred. Till then I had no idea about press conferences, I asked a few guys and some of them scared me. I feel same way here.
“I never thought this thing would happen in my life. Really excited to work with James. He has so much experience and has shown a different side of me,” he said. The Master Blaster said the film would show how he fought adversity to realise his dreams. “My dream started at the age of 10, when Kapil Dev lifted the 1983 World Cup for India. I picked up a bat and eventually realised my dream.
“A lot of things happened in my life in real, no retakes. It all happened in front of the world,” he said. Sachin hoped the film which is close to his heart would be another avenue to reach fans and reveal more about his life.
