Vijay Merchant Trophy: Trishank & Saisragvi shape Hyderabad win
Hyderabad: Trishank Gupta and D. Saisragvi came out all guns blazing as Hyderabad thrashed Kerala to win their Vijay Merchant Trophy Under 16 league cricket match at Shimoga.
Kerala were completely trapped in the spin web created by Saisragvi and first innings nemesis Trishank as the duo scalped 5 for 31 and 4 for 49 respectively to wrap up the rivals for 150 in the second innings.
Hyderabad chased the target of 5 runs in mere four deliveries to win the match by 10 wickets and pocket 7 points. Meanwhile, the Under 19 boys are in peril on Day One in the Cooch Behar Under 19 trophy being played in Madhya Pradesh.
At stumps, Hyderabad were reduced to 78/5 after bowling out MPCA for 245 in the first innings. Bhagath Verma snared 4 wickets while conceding 91 runs. Ammaar Ayub and G. V. Vinith Reddy played supporting roles by picking 3 wickets each.
