Hyderabad: Busireddy Sridhar Reddy and Abdul Ela Quraishi emerged top performers on a day that belonged to bowlers at the Hyderabad Cricket Association’s league games.
Sridhar of Future Star ran through the Oxford Blues batting line-up to come up with mind-boggling figures of 9 for 33 in a Plate division two-day game. The right-arm pacer took all wickets to fall as the Blues, chasing Star’s 318, declared at 85 for 9 and followed on, evidently to deny him a chance to achieve an astonishing feat of taking all 10 wickets — Sridhar had got his ninth wicket with the second delivery of his 16th over. That will definitely go down as poor sportsmanship on part of the Oxford Blues captain and team management.
Oxford could well have been trying to save a point though as getting bowled out would hand the rivals an additional point. In another two-day match, Sri Chakra off-spinner Abdul Ela Quraishi took 7 wickets while conceding just three runs as Ours CC were bundled out for a mere 72.
