Mumbai: It is not often that one can beat Ravichandran Ashwin with quick wit. The Tamil Nadu off-spinner not only turns it big on the cricket field to trouble the batsmen but can be equally lethal on the social media.
While some tried to troll him in the past on Twitter, Ashwin has more or less managed to enjoy an upper hand in those interactions.
The recent example when he was targeted by some of the Dhoni fans after Ashwin did not name him in the thank-you speech after he was named winner of the ICC Cricketer of the Year and ICC Test Cricketer the Year.
Ashwin had thanked his wife Prithi, Team India coach Anil Kumble, the support staff and Virat Kohli. He, however, missed out on thanking Captain Cool. While some on the social media tried to troll him, Ashwin silenced one and all with a tweet.
However, he was at the receiving end of some quick wit from Rohit Sharma.
The world number one all-rounder and bowler in Test cricket posted a picture of his damaged bag on Twitter.
Rohit, who is recovering from the surgery and aiming to make a comeback to the Indian side for the Australia series in February, tweeted:
