Kane Williamson humour on M S Dhoni pick
BIRMINGHAM: Much like the way he carries himself on the field, Kane Williamson is a picture of composure at media conferences. It’s not easy to rattle him with questions. The Kiwi was asked whether he would have included the under-fire M.S. Dhoni in his playing XI for the semifinal if he had been the Indian captain. Williamson simply smiled. The journalist was relentless.
Williamson said he would surely consider taking Dhoni in his team if he becomes a New Zealand citizen. “Is he looking to change nationalities? We will consider that selection if we have to,” Williamson said.
“Yes, experience at this level and in these occasions is so important. The partnership that he was involved in with Jadeja who came in and hit the ball better than anybody in both teams was very, very valuable and he’s a world-class cricketer,” said Williamson.
