Vishnu Induri, the founder of Celebrity Cricket League and SIIMA, is all set to debut as a film producer with a Hindi film set in the backdrop of team India’s win in the 1983 Cricket World Cup.
To aid the process of making the film, Vishnu has signed contracts with the winning team members on Sunday evening. This deal means that the producer can use all the names of the cricketers who played the legendary match, in the film.
“Kapil Dev and the other team members are really excited about this film and they appreciated the efforts. They told me that it’s a great honour for a movie to be made on them,” said Vishnu, adding that the champions were happy that this film would bring back some of their sweetest memories.
Phantom Films, who produced recent hits like Queen and Udta Punjab is co-producing this film. The shooting will start next year as the makers are now in search of the right technicians.
“One of the top directors will be directing this film,” said Vishnu, without revealing the name. According to a source, Arjun Kapoor or Ranveer Singh is likely to play Kapil Dev in this biopic....
