Kapil Dev to unveil world’s largest bat

The bat is 50 feet long and made of Willow as per ICC Cricket Standards.

This hasn't quite been the epitome of cricket fever yet. With rainy days in England washing out a few games, those turning up to take in cricketing action along with friends in pubbing adventures in the city have been in for some 'wet' days. But the hosts of a Guinness world record of sorts on Friday (June 14) are being optimistic of a huge turnout at the Phoenix MarketCity and Palladium mall. It is likely that the action will involve a star cricketer even as fans turn out to watch the World Cup action on giant screens as Team India takes on the Kiwis.

The campaign will revolve around the title #TheCupThat UnitesTheNation and will have thrilling activities and live entertainment revolving around the World Cup. The hosts will attempt to break the Guinness world record for the largest cricket bat in the world to be unveiled by the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev.

The bat is 50 feet long and made of Willow as per ICC Cricket Standards. Fans can sign good luck messages to #teamindia on the bat and the bat will be handed over to TNCA to be displayed at the Chennai Stadium after the event.
