Do you have the b**ls: Gautam Gambhir slams authorities over Unnao, Kathua rape cases

Mumbai: Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir on Thursday vented out his frustration over the Unnao and Kathua rape cases and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

In Unnao, a teen rape survivor accused BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar of raping her in June last year and also blamed him for the death of her father. The rape victim's father died in police custody on Monday.

The Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government has filed a First Information Report (FIR) against Sengar.

While in Kathua, eight-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by six men who had held her in captivity in a small temple village for a week in January. She was drugged so that she could be sexually assaulted again before being bludgeoned to death.

Gambhir, who is currently leading Delhi Daredevils in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) slammed the authorities for the lack of action.

“Indian consciousness was raped in Unnao and then in Kathua. It’s now being murdered in corridors of our stinking systems. Come on ‘Mr System’, show us if you have the balls to punish the perpetrators, I challenge you,” he wrote on Twitter.

Later, he also expressed his anger over the lawyers who opposed the Kathua case.

“Shame on those, especially the lawyers, who are challenging and obstructing Deepika Singh Rajawat, the counsel of our victimised daughter from Kathua. बेटी बचाà¤" से अब क्या अब हम बलात्कारी बचाà¤" हो à¤-ए हैं? #kathuaHorror,” the 36-year-old added.
