Mumbai: Team India’s veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh is known for voicing his support to social causes. Recently, the Mumbai Indians star was furious after he saw images of a police constable dishing out a good hammering to a woman beggar on the road.
Bhajji, who was on the bench for the entire ICC World T20, posted a couple of tweets to express his outrage and tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi also in one of his tweets.
“Sir @narendramodi this kind of nonsense should not b tolerate.Police is to protect an help not to hit our own people” (sic),” he said.
However, it looked like those tweets backfired on the Turbunator. Fans were livid with Bhajji as he had involved the country’s Prime Minister into the matter. Bhajji was clearly unhappy with their response and replied in a similar fashion.
