Magazine cover row: Case on MS Dhoni adjourned
Anantapur: Supreme Court adjourned a counter petition filed by VHP leader Y. Syamasundar in connection with cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni case on Friday.
The VHP leader had filed counter petition against Mr Dhoni council, who sought transfer of the pending case over posing as Lord Vishnu on a magazine, to Bengaluru court in Karnataka.
The defence council of MS Dhoni had filed petition in the Supreme Court pertaining to a case filed by VHP leader Syamasundar.
However, the VHP leader’s advocate K. Gopala Rao filed counter in the Supreme Court stating that case should be continued at Anantapur.
Gopala Rao said that it was mentioned in the counter petition that Mr Dhoni was a celebrity hence he could get security during his visit. The cricketer could travel easily by using available air and road routes.
“But, it is difficult to our petitioner to spend expenses,” Mr Gopal Rao said.
The Supreme Court had adjourned the case to May 12, he said.
