Mumbai: Star India batsman Virat Kohli, who took over the limited-overs reign from Mahendra Singh Dhoni, has another reason to celebrate. The Indian skipper has been named as one of the hottest keywords of 2016 for both Hindi and English searches, according to 2016 mobile trend released by Alibaba group firm UC News.
The Delhi lad garnered 108 millions page views in both the Hindi and English content. Former captain Dhoni was not far behind as he joined the flamboyant batsman at the top.
“There is a huge potential for user generated content in India. The self-publishing and online content creating industry is set for a major leap, emulating growth in the China market. There are more than 600 million mobile users and 20 million online content creators in China. India currently has 371 million mobile users with miniscule contribution from self-publishing,” the report said.
Reliance Jio took the honour of being the hottest keyword of 2016 with 116 million page views in both Hindi and English content. Bollywood actor Salman Khan was declared as the ‘Most Viewed Bollywood Actor'. Priyanka Chopra was the most popular actress among English readers, while Kareena Kapoor retained the title for Hindi readers.
