After having taken the opening wicket of Danushka Gunathilaka, luck did not go Bumrah’s way, as he bowled a no-ball to Upul Tharanga, a delivery which landed at the hands of Dinesh Karthik at gully.

It was in the same over, when Bumrah bowled two wides, an over which proved to be costly for the hosts.

Reacting to this, fans trolled Bumrah for his mistake again.

As a result, Tharanga went onto score a match-winning knock of 49, as Sri Lanka romped home by seven wickets.

This is not the first time when Bumrah’s no-ball has gone in vain. Earlier, during the ICC Champions Trophy final against Pakistan, Jasprit Bumrah missed a good chance to dismiss Fakhar Zaman, as the ball edged Zaman’s bat and was caught by Dhoni. However, the umpires clarified that the pacer had clearly overstepped the line.

Following this, Jasprit Bumrah took to Twitter to express his anger to an advertisement hoarding put up by the Jaipur traffic police, mocking him.

On Sunday, Bumrah had lost his grandfather, whose body was found in Gujarat’s Sabarmati river.

Trailing the series 0-1 to Thisara Perera-led Sri Lanka, Rohit Sharma’s men will look to level the series when the two teams meet for the second ODI at Chandigarh on Wednesday.
