Watch: Jasprit Bumrah, Nathan Coulter-Nile's reaction after collision in Guwahati T20

Bumrah was clearly not happy with the intervention as he waved his hands in disappointment.

Guwahati: When India and Australia collide against each other, there is always a possibility of quarrel taking place as both the teams try to dominate each other. It was visible when Australia toured India for the four-match Test series earlier this year. The tempers flared, arguments happened and neither of the teams took a step back.

However, the ongoing tour from Australia has largely been incident-free.

While India could not seal the series win as Australia won the second Twenty20 in Guwahati, there was a moment when the things could have gone out of hand. However, common sense and maturity from the people involved made sure that the things did not go overboard.

India tailender Jasprit Bumrah and Australian pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile collided against each other towards the end of the India innings as Bumrah was trying to make it to the non-striker’s end before the throw had hit the stumps. Coulter-Nile, who was bowling, meanwhile, bumped into the Indian, halting his charge to complete a run.

The Indian pacer, who lost his balance and had to rush to complete the run after chipping a ball towards mid-off, was clearly not happy with the intervention as he waved his hands in disappointment. However, Coulter-Nile was quick to apologise as he seemed to have made Bumrah understand that he did not block his way intentionally. Bumrah, to his credit, was wise enough to understand the Australian pacer’s side of the story and the issue was sorted as the two shared a friendly hug.

India finished their innings at 118 runs in stipulated 20 overs which Australia chased own in 15.3 overs with 8 wickets in hand.

The victory ensured visitors level the three-match T20I series 1-1, with the final match to be played in Hyderabad.

Meanwhile, the Bumrah-Coulter-Nile incident in the second T20 played at Guwahati on Tuesday, highlighted a very different side of an otherwise heated rivalry.
