Trinbago Knight Riders call up Denesh Ramdin
Jamaica: Trinbago Knight Riders have called up wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin for the remainder of the CPL season. Ramdin will replace seamer Javon Searles who has been ruled out with an injury to his right shoulder.
Searles had played only one game the for Knight Riders so far — their loss against Jamaica Tallawahs — and conceded 35 runs in two overs as Chris Gayle struck a century. Searles travelled with the Knight Riders squad to Guyana for Sunday’s match but was subsequently ruled out of the remainder of the tournament.
Ramdin was originally set to replace Fidel Edwards in the St Lucia Zouks squad but he had picked up an injury in the final of the tri-series against Australia. Since his full recovery, he is eligible to be a replacement player. Ramdin has played 147 T20 matches.
He had recently lashed out at West Indies’ new selection committee chairman Courtney Browne, saying Browne had told him he was being dropped from the Test squad for the home series against India.
