ICC World T20: MS Dhoni, Nehra kit bags steal the show
Mumbai: Marine Drive, the city boulevard, is turning dreams into reality for bystanders. People who generally throng the avenue to relax and click photographs of the gorgeous Arabian Sea at sunset were left surprised on Friday. Team India arrived for the ICC World Twenty20 and checked in at a plush hotel by the bay.
But the cricketers could not be spotted. Hence, in their absence, their kit bags stole the show.
The hotel officials and staff had a hard time counting the luggage of each cricketer.
“Arre nahi, ye Hardik Pandya ka hai. Dekho, numbers milao (no, this bag belongs to Hardik Pandya, check the numbers on the list),” said one hotel staff to another.
The duo kept counting the bags, crosschecking it with numbers provided to them on a sheet of paper.
“This is MS Dhoni’s bag. Yes, I know this bag. I’ve seen this before,” said one employee of the hotel.
Out of all the belongings, Ashish Nehra’s rectangular-shaped, tightly packed luggage raised eyebrows. It seems the cricketer is carrying lot more than his kit.
Team manager Kapil Malhotra could be seen coming out his car but the players probably entered through a secret gate.
The Men in Blue will play a warm-up match against South Africa at Wankhede Stadium here on Saturday.
