Vijayawada: The season-opening Ranji Trophy cricket match between Andhra and Vidarbha was interrupted for a while on Monday by an unexpected guest arriving at the Mulapadu Cricket stadium here.
Vidarbha won the toss and chose to field first. However, shortly afterwards, a snake appeared on the ground, causing the fielding players worry.
The umpires stopped the game. The match resumed after the snake was driven out of the stadium.
Speaking to DC a senior member of ACA said that the snake welcomed the Vidharbha team as their logo itself is a snake. He also opined that the Vidharbha team felt happy with the welcome as they entered the ground, and also played with confidence.
Vidharbha was the champions for rhe past two seasons.
