Finally, HCA will go to polls on September 27

The voters list is available on the HCA website ww.hycricket.org, the press release said.

Hyderabad: Elections to the Hyderabad Cricket Association will be held on September 27 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Electoral Officer V. S. Sampath notified on Monday.

Polls will be held for six posts — President, Vice President, Secre-tary, Joint Secretary, Treasurer and Council-lor.

In case of a straight fight, candidates would strive to secure 114 votes from a total of 226, of which 155 are held by private clubs, 51 by institutional clubs, 9 with district associations and 11 to be cast by former international players in M. V. Narasimha Rao, N. Shivlal Yadav, Arshad Ayub, Mohammed Azharuddin, S. L. Venkatapathi Raju, VVS Laxman, Noel David (men), S. Rajani Venugopal, P. Diana David, Sandra Braganza and Purnima Rau (women).

Of the internationals, Azharuddin is contesting for the post of President. Arshad and Shivlal have earlier served as president and secretary respectively. Raju has been a vice-president before, Narasimha Rao was director of the HCA’s Cricket Academy of Excellence headquartered at the Gymkhana grounds while Arshad was president and Noel David is currently chairman of the selection committee.
