Kolkata: The Indian Premier League (IPL) is coming to the business end of the season, where teams are eyeing birth in play offs. The race is getting very intense as points table keep changing everyday.
Speaking of the rise, Mumbai Indians, who were on the brink of elimination, have clawed their way back to climb to No 4 on the points table. In their last game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens on Wednesday, the Men in Blue dished out fantastic performance to outclass their opponent by 102 runs.
Former Under-19 team skipper Ishan Kishan played fine knock scoring 62 runs in 31 balls. The Jharkhand wicketkeeper, who walked into bat after losing in-form opener Suryakumar Yadav for 36 clobbered the bowlers for huge sixes, but it was his ‘helicopter’ shot that grabbed everyone’s attention.
The Mumbai Indians' wicketkeeper-batsman executed MS Dhoni's trademark shot to perfection, leaving everyone including fans on Twitter awestruck. The tennager played the shot during the 14th over of the innings bowled by Kuldeep Yadav. It was the last ball of the over from left arm spinner, when Kishan who was standing deep into his crease played the helicopter shot to a flighted delivery.
Former Australian skipper and on-air commentator, Michael Clarke, pointed out the similarity between Kishan's shot and the "helicopter shot".
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the shot
Ishan Kishan indeed played a Blinder. Got on with a flurry of Biggies which included a Helicopter Shot & MS wud be pretty pleased with him. The last one had almost gone for a 6 but mistimed it and the fielder took the catch. Kudos Kishan on the Blazing Knock of 62 🔥🔥🔥#KKRvMI— ❤ⱽᶦʳᵃᵗᶦᵃⁿADI🇮🇳❤ (@Aditya_k168) May 9, 2018
