Mohali: Virender Sehwag, a Twitter sensation following his retirement from all forms of cricket, has struck again after Kings XI Punjab defeated Kolkata Knight Riders here on Tuesday.
The former India cricketer, who is now a mentor of the Bollywood actress Preity Zinta-co-owned IPL side, took to the social media platform to take a cheeky dig at media while praising the IPL side.
KXIP, who scored 167 batting first, managed to tame Gautam Gambhir-led KKR by 14 runs to keep alive their playoffs hopes.
Following KXIP won the game, Sehwag praised the spin-bowling trio of Rahul Tewatia, Swapnil Singh and Axar Patel. While Tewatia scalped two wickets, Axar and Swapnil, despite not taking any wickets, did not leak runs to help Glenn Maxwell-led KXIP unit cross the finish line.
Really proud of the boys for a grt victory. Our spinners spun ball better than few media people spin stories.Picture abhi baaki hai#KXIPvKKR— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) May 9, 2017
