Mumbai: Former India spinner Anil Kumble said India is likely to win the ICC World Twenty20 Championship.
The leg-spinner – who broke into the Indian cricket scenario in the ICC World Cup 1996 being the highest wicket-taker (15 wickets at an average of 18.73) – believes India can lift the T20 trophy for the second time under the leadership of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
According to reports, he also said that the former cricketers played for the cause of the team and praised the current crop.
Kumble also heaped praise on Ravichandran Ashwin – Dhoni’s go-to man.
The veteran added he is capable and probably the best in the world at present.
Kumble’s best bowling figures came against Pakistan only, in Tests, when he picked up 10 in one innings at Feroz Shah Kotla in 1999.
