BCCI to give cash rewards to India men's, women's cricket team selectors
Mumbai: Following the good performances of national sides, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is all set to award the national selectors with huge cash rewards as a recognition of their efforts.
The issue of higher payments for those involved with cricket has been brought up by a number of bigwigs, including former India captain and coach Anil Kumble, and ex-skipper and current Cricket Association of Bengal chief Sourav Ganguly.
The selectors of both the sides are set to get be felicitated with a cash reward of Rs 15 lakh each.
While Kumble had advocated a higher payscale for the national team coaches and players, Ganguly batted for better pay for the domestic cricketers.
Both the Indian men’s and women’s cricket teams have captured the imagination of fans throughout the country, making it to the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy and the ICC Women’s World Cup, earlier this year, respectively.
Apart from that, the men’s cricket team has had a glorious time under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, who has lead them to the top of the ICC rankings in Test cricket, following series wins against West Indies, New Zealand, England, Bangladesh, Australia and Sri Lanka.
