Cauvery row: IPL chairman makes this big statement on CSK games in Chennai
Chennai: While there were demands of moving Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 matches out of Chennai in the wake of Cauvery row, the IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla on Monday said the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) games at their homeground in Chennai will go ahead as per schedule.
“IPL2018 matches in Chennai will be held as per the schedule. Adequate security measures have been taken. IPL should not be dragged into political controversies,” said Shukla.
It is also reported that Supreme Court will hear the matter on May 3 with Centre to file a draft scheme on the same day.
CSK will be playing four games at Chepauk before May 3 – vs Kolkata Knight Riders on April 10, vs Rajasthan Royals on April 20, vs Mumbai Indians on April 28 and vs Delhi Daredevils on April 28.
Supreme Court also asked the authorities in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka to maintain peace in their states till the Court finalises the scheme for implementation of its judgment.
The MS Dhoni-led CSK are making a comeback to IPL after completing two-year suspension following the spot-fixing saga.
