India vs Bangladesh: Virat Kohli crosses 1000 runs in ongoing home season

India skipper Virat Kohli crossed 1000 runs in the ongoing home season of Test matches with a ton against Bangladesh.

Hyderabad: Another day, another milestone for India skipper Virat Kohli. The batsman on Thursday crossed 1000 runs in the on-going home season of Test matches. Kohli is first Indian skipper to score over 100 runs in a home season of Tests.

The Indian captain achieved the milestone by scoring an unbeaten 111 against Bangladesh on the first day of the one-off Test in Hyderabad.

The Delhi batsman endured a fantastic 2016 as he dominated bowlers like never seen before. With his unbeaten ton against Bangladesh, Kohli has now scored 1075 runs in 9 Tests at an average of 89.58.

Kohli also joined Virender Sehwag and Sunil Gavaskar as the third Indian batsman to score over 1000 runs in a home season. While Sehwag made 1105 runs in the 2004/05, Gavaskar scored 1027 runs in the 1978/79 season.
