Mumbai: Yuvraj Singh, who made a comeback to India's ODI side after three years, spoke candidly about MS Dhoni, who recently stepped down from India's limited-overs captaincy.
While Yuvraj was a part of India's T20 team during the 2016 ICC World Twenty20, he last represented India in 50-overs format back in December 2013.
However, following an impressive performance in the Ranji Trophy season of 2016-17, wherein he scored 672 runs in 5 matches, Yuvraj was recalled to the side which will take on England in the three-match ODI series and three Twenty20s.
Dhoni and Yuvraj, who played crucial roles in India's World T20 win in 2007 and World Cup triumph in 2011, played majority of their cricket together.
"He is been extremely good captain for India. We won 2011 World Cup, 2007 (ICC World Twenty20), Champions Trophy (in 2013) under him. So, they are really big achievements. We were number 1 Test team under him. So, I think, these are amazing achievements and I am not sure how many captains have that," Yuvraj said in an interview to BCCI.tv.
"He has been very calm and composed and took a very good decision of stepping down because he must have felt that it is the next guy to take over the team for 2019 World Cup. I am sure he saw that in Virat (Kohli) and I am sure he has a lot to contribute as a player in the team as well at the moment," added Yuvraj.
"It will be like playing in the old days when we started. Obviously, I started much before him and then he came. I think we both were very fearless when we used to play together. So, hopefully we can do the same together in the upcoming series," concluded the southpaw.
