In Pics: MS Dhoni showcases batting skills to amazed fans in Spain
Madrid: India limited overs captain MS Dhoni has ample amounts of time on his hands, after retiring from Test cricket.
Being one of the biggest icons from the world of cricket, Dhoni seems to have now taken up the role of an ambassador for the sport.
The 35-year-old wicketkeeper batsman was seen knocking the ball around at the Madrid Cricket Club, in the Spanish capital.
Spain is a country that is better known for its exploits in football and basketball, rather than in bat-and-ball sport like cricket.
Surprisingly however, Dhoni’s presence at the Madrid Cricket Club generated a lot of interest in the city, that plays host to two of the biggest football clubs in Europe – Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid.
Dhoni has a long break ahead of him after registering a 3-2 ODI series victory over New Zealand last month. The 35-year-old is set to be out of action till mid January, when the T20Is and ODIs against England are set to commence.
