Cooch behar U-19 Trophy: Hyderabad, Andhra on the backfoot

Bowlers let Hyderabad down as Saurashtra batsmen overtook the total.

Hyderabad: Kevin Jivrajani’s double ton came as a major blow to Hyderabad as the Saurashtra ended their third day with a 19-run lead surpassing Hyderabad’s 438 in their Cooch Behar U-19 Group ‘D’ match being played in Rajkot.

Bowlers let Hyderabad down as Saurashtra batsmen overtook the total. For Hyderabad, R. Prasad, Vinith Reddy and R. Baslas took one wicket each.

Meanwhile in the other match played at the C.S.R Sarma College ground in Ongole, Goa inched closer to victory against Andhra — they require 98 more to win with 9 wickets in hand and a day’s play left.

In the second innings Andhra managed to put 208 runs on the board with the help of half centuries by S. Yudish and S.K. Md. Rafi before being bowled out. S. Nihal was the highest wicket taker for Goa in the second innings, with 4/62.
