Indian women’s cricket team captain Mithali Raj was recently slammed on twitter as a group of netizens felt she wasn’t ‘dressed properly’.
The cricketer shared a throwback picture on the microblogging site and captioned it, “#tb #PostShootSelfie #funtimes #girlstakeover.”
Soon some people trolled her over her choice of outfit. While one Twitter user asked her to delete the photograph as people idolise her, the other asked her to dress like an ‘Indian woman’.
However, what stood out was the support the cricketer had been getting from users who defended her choice and voiced their opinion in favour of Mithali.
“Walnut sized brained people will always have some nonsensical observations to make!! Shame on them (sic),” wrote one user while another added, “Don’t
worry about trollers, it’s ur freedom n choices, u look fab as u are! (sic).”
Many others also joined in and brutally slammed the trollers’ sexist remarks.
