Mumbai: Less than a week before the commencement of India's ODI series against Sri Lanka, the host team's batting coach Grant Flower has tested positive for COVID-19, it is confirmed.

According to the highly placed sources close to the team management, the 50-year-Zimbabwe-born Flower, along with other team members and coaching staff, underwent the Risk Assessment Test (on arrival on Tuesday) in which they all were required to disclose whether any of them had ever come in contacts with the England players or their support staff. Three England players and four support staff members also tested positive in England.

Grant Flower was shifted from the team hotel to a Government hotel immediately on Thursday.

The white ball players and coaching staff were vaccinated on Wednesday.

According to the sources, Flower didn't take the first dose of vaccine when the others had it a few weeks ago.
