After bitter row with Mohammed Shami, Hasin Jahan resumes modelling career

Kolkata: Hasin Jahan, the estranged wife of Mohammed Shami has returned back to her modelling career, to look after herself and her three-year-old daughter.

Involved in a bitter public row, Jahan had lodged a complaint of domestic violence and infidelity against the Team India pacer.

On March 9, the Kolkata Police had booked Team India pacer Shami and four others under various non-bailable and bailable sections on the basis of Jahan's complaint.

The case was registered under non-bailable IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder), 498-A (subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 376 (punishment for rape). The BCCI on March 22 cleared Shami's central contract after its Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU) exonerated him of corruption charges levelled by his wife Jahan. Later on, she demanded Rs. 10 lakh per month from her husband due to maintenance charges.

“I gave up my career, my dreams, my likings for Shami because he didn’t like my career. But now that he has deserted me, I am striving to reclaim the fame and popularity I had once achieved,” she was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Jahan, a professional model and former cheerleader for Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) tapped her old contacts to return back in her field. She constantly travels back and forth from Kolkata to Mumbai for her assignments.

“I hesitated at first to call up my old friends, with whom I had lost touch. But I have to work to ensure a better future for my daughter and my old friends responded,” she added.

Her pictures and videos are gaining popularity on social media platforms, after a brand new bold avatar.
