ICC Women's World Cup: Indian bowlers strike as they restrict South Africa to 273

Lizelle Lee's 92 and Dane Van Niekerk's 57 helped South Africa post a defendable total.

Leicester: The Indian eves on Saturday restricted their South African opponents to 273/9 from 50 overs, after Shikha Pandey got three wickets, while Ekta Bisht and Harmanpreet Kaur got two wickets each.

South Africa were once looking settled to score 300, but Lizelle Lee’s departure in the 21st over dampened their hopes of scoring big, as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals since then.

Lizelle Lee’s 92 and Dane Van Niekerk’s 57 helped South Africa post a defendable total.

So far in the tournament, India are unbeaten after having won all of the previous four matches. India will hope to take one step closer to the semifinals with a win over the Proteas here.
