Ind vs Ban: Kuldeep Yadav replaces Amit Mishra
Hyderabad: Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been drafted into the Indian Test squad after leg-spinner Amit Mishra was ruled out of the one-off match against Bangladesh due to a knee injury he sustained during the recent T20 series against England.
Kuldeep, who plays for Uttar Pradesh, has been on the selection radar for a couple of seasons having foxed batsmen with his ‘wrong one’ or the left armer’s googly.
The 22-year-old had earlier been selected in the ODI squad but is yet to make his senior India debut. Kuldeep came into prominence in longer version during the Duleep Trophy day night matches. He has taken 81 wickets in 22 first class matches. For Mishra, this comes as a setback as he needs to undergo more medical examination to determine the extent of his injury.
