IPL 2018: Shane Warne to make Rajasthan Royals comeback?
Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals are not the only ones making a comeback to the lucrative Indian Premier League (IPL) next season. Former Australia spin maestro Shane Warne will also be joining the bandwagon.
Warne is all set to take up a coach-cum-mentor role at Rajasthan Royals, according to a report in Indian Express. The Rajasthan franchise is currently said to be in talks with Warne for the position.
The Jaipur-based franchise and Chennai Super Kings, who were suspended for two years after team officials were found guilty of fixing matches will complete their suspension on July 14, 2017. While the teams were suspended in 2015, Raj Kundra, the co-owner of the Royals, and Gurunath Meiyappan, CSK team principal, were banned from all cricket-related activities for life.
In 2008, the Australa spin wizard captained Rajasthan Royals to the inaugural Indian Premier League title. Under the tutelage of the legendary spinner, players like Yusuf Pathan and Ravindra Jadeja came to the limelight.
