Hyderabad: The summer heat may have subsided but B. Sandeep scorched Hyderabad Cricket Association’s league on the opening day of the new season on Monday.
Playing for Income Tax, the left-handed batsman smashed a near double century as he gave Sporting XI a taxing time in their Premier League Pool ‘B’ three-day match at the ECIL ground. Sandeep had spanked 19 boundaries and four sixes in his 250-ball knock and looked all set for a double hundred before he fell seven runs short.
His 193 was instrumental in Income Tax putting up 406. Himanshu Sanjay Joshi played good supporting role with a well-made 74.
In another match, Charminar CC were an apology of a Premier division team, being bowled out for a mere 89 against Jai Hanuman, who had replied with 155 for 9 by close of play.
