Sunrisers Hyderbad in record books after miserly bowling

Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions took 14 balls to score first run

Hyderabad: With a win over Gujarat Lions on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad jumped to number four spot in the team rankings in IPL 2016.

While Shikhar Dhawan held his nerve to seal Sunrisers’ win, it was their bowlers who laid an ideal platform for the victory.

The David Warner-led side also created a record during their five-wicket win over the Suresh Raina’s team. Ashish Nehra and Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a maiden each and did not allow Gujarat side to score a run for the thirteen bowls since the start of play.

Openers Dwayne Smith (1) and Brendon McCullum (7) struggled to get off the blocks as the Indian duo were miserly in their approach. Lions took 14 balls to score their first run, the most in IPL history.

The Lions, who began with one of the slowest starts ever in the IPL, slumped to 25 for 3 inside powerplay overs.
