Kuldeep Yadav replaces injured Amit Mishra for Bangladesh Test
Hyderabad: Kuldeep Yadav on Tuesday received his first Test call-up to Indian side as he replaced injured Amit Mishra for the one-off Test against Bangladesh.
"Mishra has been ruled out of the match after he sustained a knee injury while fielding in the Bengaluru T20I match against England. He has been advised rest and will undergo further medical examination," said a BCCI media release.
The left-arm spinner, who plays for Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy and for Kolkata Knight Riders in the Indian Premier League, is the only Indian left-arm chinaman bowler.
While Kuldeep did not pick any wickets during the Irani Cup final between Gujarat and Rest of India, he impressed one and all with his five-wicket haul during the first warm-up against England ahead of the three ODIs and three-match Twenty20 series.
Kuldeep has had a steady Ranji Trophy even though UP had a horrible season. The bowler has 81 wickets in 22 first-class matches.
The first warm-up match against the England side was also the last time when Mahendra Singh Dhoni captained the team in Indian colours.
