Karachi: The Indian Premier League (IPL) player’s auction was a bright day for cricket lads in the sub-continent, Pawan Negi eclipsing one and all as the costliest Indian sold to Delhi Daredevils for Rs 8.5 crore.
While Australian all-rounder Shane Watson was the most expensive buy bought for Rs 9 crore by the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), newcomers Rising Pune Supergiants (RPS) and Gujarat Lions (GL) made the most out of the auction.
Fans now wait a mouth-watering ninth edition of India’s lucrative cricket league. The excitement has reached so high, and so far, that in Pakistan, not only fans but commentators too are feeling the heat.
Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja, who was the anchor during a post-match presentation ceremony in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) made a meal out of the entire proceedings.
On the second day of the inaugural edition of PSL, Karachi Kings defeated Lahore Qalandars by seven wickets with 25 balls to spare. During the presentation ceremony Raja made a hilarious blunder while announcing the winners when he said, “We have a result for you and it’s Kings XI”.
The moment he realised his over excitement for the IPL, he immediately corrected it by calling the correct team’s name — Karachi Kings.

That’s not all! At the end of the presentation while announcing the Man of the Match award, Raja calls West Indies cricketer Lendl Simmons but to his amazement as well as the other dignitaries, Raja rectifies himself calling it a ‘typo’ and calls Shakib Al Hassan instead.
This is not the first instance commentators have goofed up. Indian cricket commentator and now Team India Director, was caught napping' during the post-match presentation ceremony in Chennai last year.
After Mumbai Indian defeated Chennai Super Kings, Shastri fumbled and forgot to announce the Man of the Match Award to Hardik Pandya who scored 21 runs off 8 balls and powered MI to a victory.
