Ind vs Eng: Parthiv Patel to play 4th Test, injured Saha rested

Wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has failed to fully recover from his injury.

Mumbai: Comeback-man Parthiv Patel will play in the fourth Test against England in Mumbai as first choice wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha has failed to fully recover from his injury.

Saha is suffering from a strain in his left thigh, an injury that also ruled him out of the thirds Test in Mohali.

Parthiv, who made a comeback to the Test side after eight long years, impressed with scores of 42 and 67 in Mohali

"Parthiv Patel will continue to be part of the Indian Test team for the 4th Test of the five-match Paytm Test Series to be held in Mumbai from December 8, 2016," Ajay Shirke, BCCI secretary, said in a release.

Saha has been advised rest by the BCCI medical team for the upcoming Test.

"The BCCI medical team has confirmed that wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha is still recuperating from the strain in his left thigh, which he sustained during the second Test match at Vizag," the statement said.

"As a precautionary measure, Saha has been advised rest. The BCCI medical team is monitoring the wicketkeeper-batsman's progress."

Meanwhile, Pacer Ishant Sharma has been released from the squad for his wedding.
